At Rail & Stile, we are dedicated to the art of furniture…whether through designing and hand-crafting custom furniture, or curating timeless vintage pieces and re-imagining them for today’s interiors.

Rail & Stile began as the collaboration between Kelly and Cromwell Schupp, a husband and wife team with the passion and skill to produce exquisite and stylish furniture. Initially, a lacquer and refinishing studio - upcycling vintage and antique pieces to bring our clients’ visions to life - Rail & Stile expanded its vision and its offerings. Today we design and hand-craft custom furniture in various styles and functionality.

 

Our initial foray into custom furniture design was with our Modern Ming Collection, blending the timeless elegance of the Chinese Ming Dynasty with modern design elements for today’s interiors. This collection was honored in the 2023 Made in the South Awards by Garden & Gun Magazine.

 

We continue to produce other collections, each offering a nod to vintage designs but re-imagined for modern-day sensibilities. The inspiration comes from our history with fine vintage furniture, which often pleases the eye but is proportionally too small. 

 

Today, we have built an amazing team of professional carpenters, refinishers, and designers in our Raleigh NC workshop who pay strong attention to craftsmanship, quality, and detail. We are proud to be a North Carolina-based company hiring local craftspeople.
